About Dr. Barnett
The founder and medical director of California LASIK & Eye, Dr. Barnett performs modern medical eye care. He was attracted to ophthalmology because he wanted to improve lives and form longstanding relationships with his patients as mutual partners in achieving their health goals. Through the work he’s done building our practice, he’s been able to fully realize his vision of a streamlined premium refractive surgery experience.
Background & Education
A Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine graduate, Dr. Barnett achieved his medical degree, and a Ph.D. in pharmacology, and completed his ophthalmology residency through the esteemed institution. Driven to pursue contemporary vision correction, he went on to participate in a corneal and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of California San Diego.
With a desire to help other aspiring professionals, Dr. Barnett decided to leverage his expertise to train future generations of eye care providers. He became a professor of ophthalmology in the Cornea & Refractive Surgery Division at Duke University, focusing on complex anterior segment reconstruction surgeries. He then specialized in refractive vision correction and worked for several years performing countless successful procedures in the Sacramento area.
